• 초록 Lucy achieves unity through the protagonist’s persistent rejection of fixed identities and sexualities. It can be seen as a postfeminist novel, as the protagonist seeks to escape her social circumstances rather than focus solely on female postcolonial issues. While Lucy does not disregard social inequalities, it also avoids centering exclusively on sisterhood or postcolonialism, instead exploring the tension between negated subjectivity and feminist attitudes through an aesthetic, disinterested lens. The Foucauldian-Deleuzian framework of aesthetics of existence helps illuminate Lucy’s themes, as the protagonist expresses hysteria, melancholy, resistance, and homosexuality—elements tied to processes like “becoming-woman,” “care of the self,” and “technology of the self.” These reflect a critique of modernity and androcentrism, with postfeminist selfhood portrayed as pluralized and politicized rather than a singular female experience. Lucy’s quest for an aesthetics of existence is rooted in her dual repression—as a woman and a subject in a colonized context—echoing Foucault and Deleuze’s efforts to reclaim freedom from modernity. The novel presents postfeminism as a space where subjectivity’s negation and feminist resistance coexist, integrated through aesthetic expression.

• 초록 One way for a humble being to manage an irresistible force is to attribute divinity to that force. This has been our attitude toward aging and death. Throughout human history, aging and death have been considered sacred because they are thought to be beyond human control. However, just as many sacred beings have been secularized, aging and death are now also becoming secularized. Advances in biotechnology and anti-aging technology are driving these changes. I believe it is time for humanity to consider the meaning of life in a world where aging and frailty become curable diseases

• 초록 비인간론은 21세기 근대인이 처한 다중적 위기 상황에서 인간과 비인간(nonhuman)의대칭성을 비판적으로 주장하는 논의 흐름이다. 비인간론은 인간의 진화에서 결정적인 역할을 비인간에게 부여하며 비인간과의 공진화를 주장하고, 나아가 동시대 담론들이 인간으로부터 비인간으로의 입장 전환을 요청한다. 비인간론은 정동이론, 미디어물질주의, 포스트휴먼 담론, 행위자연결망이론, 신유물론 등의 동시대 담론들과 교차하며, 한국에서는 주요 문헌들의 번역 소개와 더불어 꾸준히 인문사회학 분야에 영향을 미치고 있다. 한국인용색인(KCI)에 따르면 비인간 연구는 기후 위기, 젠더 차별, 감염병, 생태계 오염, 장애와 신체 변형, 인공지능, 동물 권리, 혐오 등과 같은 여러 주제로 2000년대 초부터 시작되어 2015년을 기점으로 급성장하고 있다. 비인간론은 인문학 분야의 연구가 주를 이루며 특히 KCI ‘기타 인문학’으로 분류된 분과 횡단적 연구 경향을 나타낸다.

• 초록 This study examined how Vietnamese news media reported on Child Sexual Abuse (CSA) cases from 2017 to 2021. A quantitative content analysis was conducted on 663 news articles related to CSA from Vietnam’s two most popular news media, vnexpress.net and dantri.vn. The study found that some news articles disclosed personal information such as gender, age, address, photograph, and occupation of both victims and perpetrators. The most frequently cited sources were government agencies, while experts on children’s issues, who are arguably more relevant, were rarely referenced. The most prevalent news frame was weak punishment, followed by moral decay, tradition of saving face, and lack of proper sex education. These findings suggest that Vietnamese news media may fall short in raising awareness of CSA as a serious crime. This shortfall could result from a lack of professionalism among journalists and inadequate adherence to journalistic principles. The implications of these findings are discussed in relation to the role of news media and journalism ethics.

• 초록 이글은보편적돌봄과그런돌봄을위한연대라는시대적요청을어떻게수용할것인 지의 문제를 다룬다. 돌봄이 시대의 화두가 되었다. 그것은 돌봄이 위기에 처했다는 뜻이 기도하다.이문제를해결하는해법으로종종인식틀의전환이,다시말해우리사회를지 탱하고 있는 체제와 그런 체제를 내면화하고 있는 우리의 인식을 바꿔야 한다고 요청되곤 한다. 그런 요청의 실천적 방안들은 아울러 주체성 강화를 요구한다. 이 글은 이러한 요청 의 화용론적 효과를 분석하고자 하였다. 모두에게 행동할 것을 요청하는 일은 때때로 아 무도나서지못하게할수도있거나과잉된자기주장으로나타날수있기때문이다.그래 서의도하지않은결과를낳을수도있다.따라서돌봄의요청이실천적힘을발휘하기위 해서는 이념적 선명성만이 아니라 현실의 조건에 대한 세심한 고려가 필요해 보인다. 이 글은이러한문제상황을주체성의빈곤이라는또다른문제상황과연결해드러내보이 고자 하였다.

• 초록 이 글의 목적은 한국 근대 이후 등장한 민중 개념의 전개를 살피고 인류세라는 명명이 힘을 얻고 있는 현 상황에 호응하여 민중 개념을 갱신하는 데 있다. 이를 위해 우선 20세기 한국사에서 민중 개념의 전개와 1990년대 이후 새로운 정치 지형에서 제기된 민중 개념 혁신의 내용을 살펴보았다. 다음으로 1970년-80년대 ‘원주그룹’에서 시작된 ‘생명운동’에서 해석된 민중을 드러내고 이를 ‘생태적 민중’이라 명명하여 보았다. 민중에 대한 생태적인 인식은 1960년대 중후반에서 시작된 협동조합운동이 민중 생존권을 주요한 의제로 발견하면서 ‘생명운동’으로 전환하고 1980년대 이후 생태주의와 동학의 세계관과 결합하면서 등장하였다. ‘생태적 민중’은 민중에 대한 실체론적 파악에서 벗어나 이를 포착할 수 없는 개념으로 파악하기 때문에 민중을 특정 정체성을 지닌 집단으로 상상하지 않는다. 이러한인식은 사람 집단으로서 민중만이아니라, 그 근본에 있어서 더 넓은 것, 이를테면 동식물, 광물, 대기 등을 포괄하여 사고하도록 하고 이들 간의 상호관계를 중시한다. 지금까지 민중론에서 주목하지 않았던 민중에 대한 생태적 인식을 역사적으로 발굴함으로써 당대의 민중 담론 상황을 좀 더 유연하게 이해하고 나아가 지금의 시대적 상황에 부응할 수 있을 것이다.

Trends of fear and anger on YouTube during the initial stage of the COVID-19 outbreak in South Korea

• 초록 The COVID-19 pandemic has been the most widespread and threatening health crisis experienced by the Korean society. Faced with an unprecedented threat to survival, society has been gripped by social fear and anger, questioning the culpability of this pandemic. This study explored the correlation between social cognitions and negative emotions and their changes in response to the severe events stemming from the COVID-19 pandemic in South Korea.The analysis was based on a cognitive-emotional model that links fear and anger to the social causes that trigger them and used discursive content from comments posted on YouTube’s COVID-19-related videos. A total of 182,915 comments from 1,200 videos were collected between January and December 2020. We performed data analyses and visualizations using R, Netminer 4.0, and Gephi software and calculated Pearson’s correlation coefficients between emotions.YouTube videos were analyzed for keywords indicating cognitive assessments of major events related to COVID-19 and keywords indicating negative emotions. Eight topics were identified through topic modeling: causes and risks, perceptions of China, media and information, infection prevention rules, economic activity, school and infection, political leaders, and religion, politics, and infection. The correlation coefficient between fear and anger was 0.462 (p < .001), indicating a moderate linear relationship between the two emotions. Fear was the highest from January to March in the first year of the COVID-19 outbreak, while anger occurred before and after the outbreak, with fluctuations in both emotions during this period.This study confirmed that social cognitions and negative emotions are intertwined in response to major events related to the COVID-19 pandemic, with each emotion varying individually rather than being ambiguously mixed. These findings could aid in developing social cognition-emotion-based public health strategies through education and communication during future pandemic outbreaks.

‘모범 소수자’와 ‘영원한 이방인’ 사이: 팬데믹 시기의 독일의 반아시아 인종주의와 아시아계 정체성

• 초록 홀로코스트 이후 독일에서 인종이나 인종주의는 일종의 금기어였다. 그런데 용어에 민감한 만큼 인종차별 문제에 치밀하게 대응했는가에 대해서는 회의적이다. 금기어를 대체한 독일의 ‘회피적인 조어’나 관제상 우익 극단주의에만 조준된 인종주의는 현재 모든 영역에 걸쳐져 있는 ‘사회적 현상으로서의 인종차별’을 호도한다. 특히 ‘모범 소수자(Model Minority)’처럼 간주되어 온 아시아계는 독일의 인종주의 담론에서도 완전한 타자다. 뉴라이트의 자양분이 된 틸로 자라친(Thilo Sarrazin)의 사례처럼 타 인종을 겨냥한 정치적 맥락에서만 활용되었을 뿐, 반아시아 인종주의에 대한 체계적인 조사와 연구는 코로나 19 팬데믹에 기반한 ‘국가 차별 및 인종주의 모니터(NaDiRa)’의 2024년 보고서가 최초다. 편의표본추출에 의한 데이터의 한계는 분명 존재하지만 - ‘모범적으로 통합된 이주자’라는 통념에 가려 - 잘 포착되지 않던 반아시아 인종주의를 범주화했다는 점은 그 시사성이 작지 않다. 특히 신체적 폭행을 포함한 차별의 강도와 유형, 압도적인 미신고율, 그리고 혐오와 폭행 장소 대부분이 공공장소라는 조사결과는 과거부터 존재해온 사회의 승인과 묵인, 방조가 아니면 설명될 수 없는 부분이다. 요컨대 NaDiRa의 데이터는 흑인이나 무슬림 이주자와는 다른 방식으로 철저히 타자화된 아시아계의 취약성을 가시화함으로써, 모범 소수자라는 신화의 함정과 ‘영원한 이방인(perpetual foreigner)’이라는 정체성 문제를 쟁점화하는 단초를 제공하며, 더 나아가 탈식민주의 연구와 연계하여 지속적인 탐색이 이루어져야 한다는 것이 본고의 입장이다.
