The Sookmyung Research Institute of Humanities strives to become an institute that advocates the humanities.
We pursue humanities as a compound academic discipline that goes beyond being a segmented academic division.
We will contribute to the community through the spirit of humanities that creates a place for academic communication and discourse, while sharing wisdom.
In 2017, we were selected for the Humanities City Development Project to successfully offer various courses in Humanities to include and stress the history, diversity, and expandability of Yongsan through “Yongsan, the Humanities City of Coexistence Reflected in the Site Patterns.”
In 2020, we were finally selected for HK+ to initiate a study on “Age of Disgust, Response of Humanities.”
Sookmyung Research Institute of Humanities is dedicated to laying the foundation of research for public discourses and discussions with the local community and society beyond the college walls.
As an alternative measure to cope with the various crises to be faced by the college, Sookmyung Research Institute of Humanities plans to be the hub of a new research paradigm, leading the new generation of humanities studies in Korea.
