반아시안 인종주의, 슬로건 “흑인의 목숨도 소중하다”, 그리고 코비드-19

코비드-19 전염병이 확산됨과 동시에 전지구적으로 나타난 반아시안, 반흑인 인종주의, 그리고 미국의 인종갈등 발생과 심화과정에 대해 논의할 것입니다.

특히, 황화론, 모범 소수민족 신화, 백인 우월주의를 바탕으로 미국 내 반아시안 인종주의와 함께 인종주의의 가해자가 흑인이라는 잘못된 인식에 대해 논의할 것입니다. 

(Dr. Jennifer Ho will talk about anti-Asian and anti-Black racism that has emerged globally during the COVID-19 pandemic, and in particular, the ways that in the United States, the emergence of racial conflict has taken shape. In particular, she will talk about the rise of anti-Asian racism directed against Chinese and Asian Americans in the US (or those perceived to be Chinese and/or Asian American) as well as the mis-perception that the main perpetrators of this racism are Black Americans. The talk will discuss terms such as yellow peril, the model minority myth, and white supremacy and end with a call for global anti-racism.)
